Current Bylaws Now On-Line

Sorry about the delay, folks, but not much had changed between the October edits and now. Here, however, for your downloading pleasure, are the current CYD bylaws.

Click here to download the CYD Bylaws.

There should be a link on the main page soon as well.

I spent a good amount of time wrestling with the joy of a program that is Microsoft Word to get the formatting to run correctly, but if you find a numbering problem or a typographical error, please let me know via email at cdcydsec at hotmail dot com.

Enjoy.

First Email to Arnold is Out!!

The first email to Arnold's War Room has been sent! Under the subject line "Opportunity: Stop Cutting Education Funding" the email reads:

Governor Schwarzenegger:
There's a great press "opportunity" if you stop proposing cuts to California's schools, repay the billions you have stolen from our children, and commit to fully fund Prop 98. California's children deserve better than what you have given them. An opportunity at a good education for them would certainly be an opportunity for good press for you.

Keep sending the Governor more "opportunities" -- and don't forget to cc us on the email (cydcommunications@yahoo.com).

CYD Members:
In case you missed it, the SF Chronicle got ahold of and printed an email from the Governor's War Room. The email outlines media attacks and opportunities for the Governor. You can read the article here.

SEND AN EMAIL TO ARNOLD'S CAMPAIGN WITH YOUR SUGGESTIONS!!
CYD is mounting a drive to send as many suggestions for "Opportunities" to the Governor's campaign as possible. Their email address, as reported by the Chronicle, is warroom@joinarold.com. Don't forget to cc us (cydcommunications@yahoo.com) on your email to Arnold -- we will post it on the CYD blog! Send your suggestion to Arnold today!

Maybe We Can Teach an Old Dog New Tricks

Congressional Quarterly's article Strategists Hope to Inject Young Blood Into '06 Vote outlines some of the great non-partisan resources, such as George Mason's Young Voter Strategies and Center for Information and Research Learning and Engagement (Circle) are developing to educate campaigns on the potential success young voters could provide.

But this is not news to young democrats. As Young Democrat activists we have been consistently asking campaigns to remember the importance of young people, not just in terms of footsolidiers to mobilize the Democratic base, but as potential voters that can secure Democratic victories.
Young Democrats of America's peer-to-peer programs in 2004 and most recently in 2005 continue to prove that young people can be and do participate in elections when they are given the opportunity.
With the potential to take back the house in 2006 and take out Arnold--California Young Democrats will be ready to make sure young people do our part this November!

"The Hammer" is Leaving Rusty Nails Behind

Indicted Republican Leader Tom "the Hammer" Delay resigned admist charges of fraud and bribery. Check out his retreat.

While we can't be happier to see Delay leave Congress, "The Hammer" has already spread the Culture of Corruption through donating to California Republicans--money that Delay had raised from the companies involved in allegations of bribery and fraud.

The electeds taking this money are like "Rusty Nails" for "The Hammer."
Just like a Rusty Nail--they serve no purpose and are a pain to get rid of!

The Hammer's Rusty Nails
Wally Herger: $11,000.
o Dan Lungren: $1,000.
o John Doolittle: $10,000.
o Richard Pombo: $5,000.
o George Radanovich: $7,000.
o Devin Nunes: $5,000.
o Bill Thomas: $5,000.
o Gary Miller: $5,000.
o Ken Calvert: $5,000.
o Mary Bono: $5,000.
o Dana Rohrabacher: $5,000.
o Darrel Issa: $5,000.
o Duncan Hunter: $6,000.
o Elton Gallegly: $5,000.
o Christopher Cox: $5,000.
o David Dreier: $5,000.
o Jerry Lewis: $10,000.
o Howard “Buck” McKeon: $10,000

So this year, let's work hard to remove Delay's strangle over California and Democrats around the country.
